Accordingly, on March 21, 1989, the theologians- consultants gathered in special session presided over by the General Promoter for the Faith, Fr. Antonio Petti, unanimously declared that the Servant of God practiced Christian virtue to a heroic degree. On November 7 of the same year, His Eminence Andrzej Maria Cardinal Deskur, the President of the Pontifical Academy of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M., presented the cause to the cardinals and bishops gathered in their ordinary meeting; they recog- nized that the Servant of God Casimir of St. Joseph Wyszyński practiced the theological, cardinal and related virtues to a heroic degree. Eventually, the undersigned Cardinal Prefect pre- sented the account on these matters to the Holy Father John Paul II. His Holiness, having accepted with satis- faction the opinion of the Congregation for the Saints, instructed them to prepare an appropriate decree on the heroic virtue of the Servant of God. When his directive had been carried out, the Holy Father called in the Cardinals, the undersigned Prefect, Cardinal A.M.
