Divine Mercy Weekend program 2025

Dear Pilgrims, On behalf of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, welcome to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. We are honored to have as our main celebrant on Sunday the Very Reverend Donald Calloway, MIC, the Vicar Provincial of our Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy Province. In the midst of all the tribulations our world faces, we continue to joyfully place our hope in the Risen Christ who was sent by our Heavenly Father to conquer sin and death. Whatever darkness we face, we know there is always hope in Christ who is the True Light. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” Christ has won the victory over the war between good and evil, giving us cause to never fall into despair no matter the course of the battle we currently face. “I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” We are reminded during the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope, that as we journey through life to the Heavenly Jerusalem, Christ is our anchor which no storm can overcome or no one can ever take away. Christ is our steadfast anchor of hope, giving us not only an expectation of eternal life, but everything we need to attain it. We are grateful for the extraordinary graces given in this Jubilee Year to help further our return to God, and we especially give thanks to God for all the special graces that have come about through the canonization of St. Faustina and the institution of the Feast of Divine Mercy 25 years ago by Pope St. John Paul II. May St. Faustina intercede for us to grow in the virtue of hope by placing all our trust in God’s unfathomable mercy. And may you experience today during Holy Communion a foretaste of the everlasting peace and bliss for which we continue to hope. In Jesus and Mary Immaculate, Fr.
