Residence 167A residence is a house that is not canonically established, in which only one or two confreres, who belong to some local community, live and work by mandate of the Major Superior with the consent of his Council, by way of exception, and because of true necessity. The Superior General can subject a residence immediately to himself, in the same way as he does with a house.
