Rights and Obligations 137 The years of profession are counted from the date of first vows. The professed with temporary vows have the same obligations and rights as the professed with perpetual vows, unless stated to the contrary in the law. According to custom, after making their perpetual profession, confreres make a promise to persevere in the Congregation, even if it is most difficult to do so.
