November 163 November 24 On November 24, 1744, Father SERAPHIM died at the monastery in Skórzec, where he is buried. In 1892, Father ANDREW STRUPIŃSKI (Stroo-peen'-ski) died at the age of 63. He was a religious for 44 years. After the suppression of monasteries in 1864, he left for Bolivia in 1866, but after 7 years he returned to Paris in failing health. He was not allowed to return to Marijampolė, so he left for America, where he built a church in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania and was the first Pastor of this Lithuanian parish. He is buried in Shenandoah. November 25 On November 25, 1954, the body of Brother JOSEPH STIRBYS (Stir-beese), a member of the Marijampolė monastery, was found in a field. He was 40 years old, a religious for 20 years. It is not known whether he froze to death or was fatally beaten. His body was taken away by the military and his place of burial is unknown. November 26 On November 26, 1983, Brother JOSEPH VOKIETAITIS (Vo-kieh-taitis) died at the age of 86. He was a religious for 48 years. Although he was only able to stay at the Marijampolė monastery for a few years, he remained faithful to his vocation even during the times of persecution that followed the suppression of monasteries. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the cemetery in Marijampolė. In 1984, Brother ANTHONY BAKSYS (Bok-seese) died at the age of 87. He was faithful to his Marian vocation for 55 years despite the expulsion of religious from their monasteries and the resulting difficulties. He worked mainly as a Sacristan and gardener. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1991, Father ANTHONY LIESIS (Lee-eh-siss) died at the age of almost 80. He was a Marian for 58 years and a priest for 51, having served in various parishes. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 2014, Father ANDREW KRZYMYCZEK (K’zhe-mih-chek) passed away during his 87th year of life. He was a religious for 60 years and a priest for 57, drawing particular inspiration from our Blessed Renovator.
