† A LBUM OF THE D ECEASED F ATHERS AND B ROTHERS † 78 In 1931, Father NAPOLEON LUBOWICK I died in Wysokie Litewskie, at the age of 95. He was a priest for 60 years. In 1858, he joined our Congregation and lived at the house in Raśna. After the suppression of religious institutes in 1864, he was compelled, being a deacon, to enter the Vilnius Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood there, after which he was engaged in an arduous pastoral ministry. Before dying, he consigned to the Marians the oldest portrait of our holy Father Founder. m Ay 30 On May 30 in 1945, FRANCIS KAREVICIUS, the Titular Archbishop of Scytopolis , died at the house in Marijampolė at the age of 83. He was a priest for 59 years and a bishop for 31. In 1918, he conferred the episcopal ordination on Blessed George. In 1926 he resigned from his duties as Bishop of Kaunas and entered our Congregation. He is buried in the crypt of Samogitian bishops at the Kaunas Cathedral. m Ay 31 On May 31, 1815, Father PHILIP MIELIŃSKI , preacher of the monastery, died at the monastery in Raśna, where he is buried. In 1949, a seminarian PLACIDUS LELEŠIUS died at the age of 23. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery in Marijampolė. In 1992, Father JOHN BUCH , a member of the Polish Province, died unex- pectedly at the age of 66 at the house in Stoczek. He was a religious for over 44 years and a priest for over 35. He was engaged in educational and pastoral activities at various houses of the Province. During the last four years spent at the house in Stoczek, he fulfilled the offices of superior, treasurer, pastor, and director of the local Marian shrine. He was known for his benevolence and pastoral zeal. He was origi- nally buried in Stoczek Klasztorny, but three months later his remains were trans- ferred to Warsaw upon his family’s request. In 1997, Father DOMINIC JORGE died in a car accident in Portugal. He was 51 years old, a religious for 28 years and a priest for 20. He served as a pastor and rector of the shrine in Balsamão. He is buried next to his father, at the cemetery of his native parish of Duas Igrejas.
