During the last six years of his life, he ministered at our parish in London. He is buried in Góra Kalwaria. A PrIl 22 OnApril 22, 1946, Brother JOHNPAULAITIS , a seminarian of theAmerican Province of St. Casimir, died at the age of 28 at the Marianapolis house within a few hours of suffering injury in an automobile accident. He is buried in the section reserved for the Marians in St. Casimir’s cemetery in Chicago. In 1959, Father VINCENTGERGELIS (Guer-guelis) died in Marijampolė at the age of 77. He was a priest for 54 years and a religious for 40. He was a teacher in our Marian school. From 1933 to 1935, he served as provincial superior of the Lithuanian Province and later as superior of the Marijampolė house. After the sup- pression of religious communities by the Communists, he served pastorally at the parish of Liskiava. He is buried in Marijampolė. A PrIl 23 OnApril 23, 1970, Brother PETERMACS passed away in Latvia. He was 78 years old, 42 of which he spent in our Congregation, serving as a tailor. After the liquidation of the Viļāni monastery, he took up residence at the house of the Rikava pastor, and then with a pious family in Illuksha. He is buried in that town. In 1991, Father JOHN JAŠKOVIČS , a member of the Latvian Province, died at the age of 80 in a hospital in Viļāni, Latvia. He was a religious for almost 56 years and a priest for 44. Because of his pastoral work, he was imprisoned and exiled by the Communist government. Set free 6 years later, he returned to Latvia, where he dedicated himself to priestly activity in various parishes, building one church and one chapel. He was highly regarded for his diligence and sense of humor. He is buried near the church at Viļāni. In 2008, Father WALDEMAR OSKIERA (Osk'era), a member of the Polish Province, died in Warsaw at the age of 81. He was a religious for 43 years and a priest for 35. In 1965, he was entrusted with duties of the general visitator of the Polish Province. He served as a spiritual director and confessor for our seminarians and many religious grups of women. He was greatly interested in the arts and coop- erated in designing the newMarian churches and chapels. Our seminary’s library in Lublin has the statue of Socrates, which he sculpted. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the Wawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw.
