Album of the Deceased Marian Fathers and Brothers
In 1841, FatherANTHONYJUREWICZ (Yu-re-vich), Assistant of the Order and lector of theology, died at the age of 38 at the monastery in Marijampolė. He was a priest for 13 years. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1914, Father BERNARD PIELASIŃSKI (P'e-lasin'-ski) died at the age of 82 in Góra Kalwaria. He was a religious for 62 years, having joined at the age of 20. After the suppression of the Order in 1864, he remained at Marijampolė for some years and then took up pastoral work in the Diocese of Sejny, as a diocesan priest. Starting in 1875, he was a chaplain at the home for the aged at Góra Kalwaria. Due to his great devotion to Father Founder, he cared for the Church of Our Lord’s Cenacle. In 1890 and 1891, he restored this church, and got it reconse- crated. He wore the white Marian habit until his death. He is buried in the parish cemetery in Góra Kalwaria. After the Marians took over the parish, his remains were transferred to the Marian portion of the cemetery. In 1974, Brother JOSEPH GRUNDANS , a member of the Latvian Province, died at the age of 78 in Viļāni. A religious for 50 years, he was one of the first Latvians to enter our Congregation. He was an organist at the Marian church in Viļāni. He is buried in in Viļāni. In 1977, Father ANTHONY JAŠMANTAS , a member of the Lithuanian Province, died at the age of 70. He was a religious for 46 years. He is buried in the cemetery in Alvytas. A PrIl 20 On April 20, 1746, Father FELIX SKOWROŃSKI (Sko-vron’ski) died, while preaching a mission in Mszczonów (Msh-czo-noov). He is buried in the crypt of the Puszcza Korabiewska church. In 1807, FatherAMBROSE SEURASZEWICZ (Se-oo-rashe-vich), preacher of the monastery, died at the age of 38 at the monastery in Puszcza Korabiewska. He was a religious for 17 years. He is buried in the crypt of the Puszcza Korabiewska church. In 1893, Father CASIMIR PESTYNEK died at Königsberg in Prussia, where he had undergone surgery on his stomach. He was a lector of philosophy and theol- ogy, and after the suppression in 1864, vicar general with residence at Marijampolė. He is buried in Königsberg. In 2015, Father PETERWENCESLAUS SMOLIŃSKI suddenly died of a heart attack in London at the age of 51. He was a religious for 31 years and a priest for 25. He obtained his Doctorate in philosophy at the CUL. He worked at the General A PRIL 63
