Album of the Deceased Marian Fathers and Brothers

A PRIL 57 regular Sunday Mass and the praying of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy at the (then) John Paul II Cultural Center (now the Saint John Paul II National Shrine). He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Mass- achusetts. A PrIl 6 On April 6, 1757, Father PAUL JUSZKIEWICZ (Yush-k'evich) died at the age of 83 at the monastery in Skórzec. He was a renowned preacher. Due to his excessive zeal in this work he suffered a stroke which left him bedridden for 12 years, until his death. He is buried in the crypt of the church in Skórzec. In 1780, Father MICHAELGLINKA , preacher of the said monastery, died at the monastery in Berezdov, at the age of 40. He was buried in the crypt of the Berezdov church. In 1806, Father RAYMOND NOWICKI (No-vitski) died at the age of 70. He was a religious for 50 years. For 12 years, from 1776 to 1788, he held the office of General Superior. It was during his term in the office that our community attained its greatest development and growth as it realized its separation from the Franciscan Order. He also initiated the preaching of parish missions and established schools at Marian monasteries. He likewise acquired the church and monastery of Saint Vitus in Rome. A great reformer, Fr. Nowicki was also an exceptionally intelligent and saintly religious, which later merited him a place among the most revered Marians in the history of our Institute. In 1801, he suffered a heart attack, which left him par- alyzed for the last five years of his life, which he spent at the monastery in Marijampolė, where he is buried. A PrIl 8 OnApril 8, 1787, Brother STEPHEN JASTRZĘBSKI (Yast-shemb-ski) died at the monastery in Goźlin at the age of 60. He was a religious for 32 years and is buried in crypt of the Goźlin church. In 1828, Father JULIAN KORYCKI (Ko-ryts-ki) died at the age of 54 at the monastery in Miroslavas, in the 35 th year of religious life. He was vicar general and president of the monastery. He was highly esteemed for his virtues of charity, pru- dence, modesty and sobriety. He is buried in Miroslavas. In 1832, Father JEROME GEYSZTOR (Gue-y-shtor), age 63, died at the monastery in Marijampolė, in his 38 th year of priesthood. He was highly esteemed for his pastoral activity. He is buried in Marijampolė.
