A P r I l A PrIl 1 On April 1, 2006, Father VICTOR CIVZELIS , a member of the Latvian Province, died in Viļāni, Latvia, at the age of 85. Before the outbreak of World War II, he left Latvia for Rome, where he studied music and participated in many con- certs. He dramatically changed his lifestyle after meeting Padre Pio. He joined our Congregation in Rome, at the age of 39. He studied at Angelicum and in Bologna, and was ordained a priest in 1964, at the age of 45. After ordination he went to Chicago, where he worked at the Parish of Our Lady of Aglona for many years. In 2002, he returned to Latvia and spent his remaining years at the Viļāni monastery, where he is buried. A PrIl 2 On April 2, in 1807, Father PAUL PIRCHMANN (Peerkh-man), a lector of sacred theology, died at the monastery in Raśna. He is buried in the crypt of the Raśna church. In 1822, Father SYLVESTER LECHNIEWICZ (Lekh-n'e-vich) died at the age of 66 at the monastery in Puszcza Korabiewska. He fulfilled with great dili- gence and competence the offices of president of the monastery and Procurator General. He is buried in the crypt of the Puszcza Korabiewska church. In 2008, Father THADDEUS ROGALEWSKI , age 73, a religious for 56 years and a priest for 46, died in our Sulejówek house. He held various offices in the Congregation: house superior, provincial councilor, and educator. He served in Marian parishes and conducted retreats. He was a Doctor of Moral Theology and a professor at theWarmia and Mazury University in Olsztyn. He taught at the Marian seminary in Lublin and other graduate schools. His academic research centered pri- marily on Marian history and spirituality. He published several books in this field and also authored St. Stanislaus Papczyński’s scholarly biography. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the Wawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw. A PrIl 3 OnApril 3, 1789, Father STEPHENMICEWICZ (Mee-tse-vich), a member of the monastery inMarijampolė, died while engaged in chaplaincy work in Prienai, Lithuania. He was highly regarded for his humility, piety, and diligence. He is buried in Prienai.
