M ARCH 49 In 1945, cleric IGNATIUS GAJOWNICZEK (Gay-ov-nichek), age 24, was killed in Bielany by the explosion of a hidden mine left behind by the German army. He was a member of the Polish Province and a religious for six years. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the Wawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw. In 1955, Father ANTHONY PODZIAWO (Podz'avo) died of cancer at the age of 43 at the house in Skórzec. He was a religious for 23 years and a priest for 16. He was originally a member of the Druya house. Later he became a teacher in our educational institutions in Warsaw and, because of his activities, was impris- oned by the Communists for some years. He is buried in Skórzec. In 2011, Brother ANTHONY ROMANOWSKI , a member of the Polish Province, died in the 96 th year of life, 64 of which he spent as a religious. He was a soldier during World War II. In our Congregation, he was in charge of a farm belonging to the house in Skórzec and also served for many years at the Shrine of Our Lady of Licheń. He was known for his humility, piety, and serenity. His long life was dedicated entirely to our Congregation. He is buried in Licheń. In 2021, Father STANISLAUS MALIŃSKI , a member of the Polish Prov- ince, died at the hospital of Zlina (Czech Republic). He was 89 years of age, a mem- ber of our Congregation for 67 years and a priest for 54. He served initially in var- ious Polish parishes and in 1990, he was sent to work in the Nitra diocese in the Czech Republic. In 1996, he was assigned to the house in Brumov-Bylnice, where he remained until the end of his life, actively supporting his confreres in their pas- toral work. He is buried in the parish cemetery in Brumov-Bylnice. m ArCh 22 On March 22, 2012, Father SIGISMUND STOLARCZYK (Sto-lar-chik) died at a hospital in Warsaw on the eve of his 84 th birthday. He was a religious for 62 years and a priest for 52. He dedicated his life to pastoral service in various parishes of the Polish Province. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the Wawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw. m ArCh 23 On March 23, 1983, Father FRANCIS MEGNIS , a member of the Latvian Province, died at the age of 67 in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. He was a religious for 27 years and a priest for 20. In 1979, he voluntarily went to Siberia to give spiritual assistance to the deportees. Humble and devout, he fulfilled with great zeal his mis- sionary activity as a pastor in Pavlodar, where he is also buried.
