5) On the “Our Father” beads of the Rosary: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world (476). 6) On the “Hail Mary” beads of the Rosary: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. 7) Repeat “Eternal Father” and “For the Sake of His sorrowful Passion” on the remaining four decades. 8) After 5 decades, pray the prayer (three times): Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself (950). Prayers for the Sick Before Surgery: God of compassion, our human weakness lays claim to your strength. We pray that through the skills of surgeons and nurses your healing gifts may be granted to N. May your servant respond to your healing will and be reunited with us at your altar of praise. Grant this through Christ our Lord. For a child: God our Father, we have anointed your child N. with the oil of healing and peace. Caress him/ her, shelter him/her, and keep him/her in your tender care. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. For a young person: God our healer, in this time of sickness you have come to bless N. with your grace. Restore him/her to health and strength, make him/her joyful in spirit, and ready to embrace your will. Grant this through Christ our Lord. 81
