Nursing with the Hands of Jesus

Case Management & End of Life Issues Medical Case Management for patient advocacy is becoming important for a patient who may not know what resources are available to him or her for medical and spiritual care. The Nurse Case Manager could be a key person to coordinate not only medical but the spiritual care as well. Carefully coordinating with the medical team, the Nurse Case Manager may also arrange a family meeting with Pastoral Care to discuss spiritual care of the patient, especially regarding end-of-life decisions. Catholic resources that address questions in the area of Bioethics and Medical Ethics, such as, end of life decisions, extraordinary means, etc., are available from USCCB and National Catholic Bioethics Center. For information see page 111, especially # 6, 7 and 8. 64 Memorare Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known, that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother; to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but hear and answer me. Amen. © Marie Romagnano
