Rays of Merciful Love Fall_Winter 2021
F or the last 16 years, Healthcare Professionals for Divine Mercy, an apostolate of the Marian Fathers of the Immacu- late Conception, has sponsored a yearly conference with presentations by healthcare professionals, priests, and religious, in an effort to educate healthcare workers on major issues of the day in an academic and spiritual environment. This year’s conference, “Divine Mercy Medicine, Bioethics, and Spirituality Conference,” will be virtual. Please see the enclosed conference information in this newsletter, as we again have premiere speak- ers. Continuing education credits will be available. If you are a Catholic healthcare professional or know of any, please make them aware of the conference. Since it is virtual, people from all over the world are able to view and learn, so please help us get the word out and post on social media to all your contacts! Remember, the conference is for everyone, including those who may be caring for a loved one and have many questions and need direction. And the spiritual treasure of past conferences is not lost or forgotten. I encourage all of you, not just healthcare providers, to go to our website at TheDivineMercy.org/hpdm and watch any of the 60 conference talks from previous years, gathered together under the title “Healthcare Divine Mercy Matters.” The talks are like fine pearls of truth that people need to be aware of. They are grouped in sets of 10. You can look through all the topics and learn so much on many diverse areas. For example, here are just a few of my favorites of the 60 shows posted online: ● Episode 1 —The Abortion Pill and Its Reversal ● Episode 2 —The Christian Meaning of Human Suffering and Patient Care ● Episode 8 — Critical Thinking About Faith in the ICU ● Episode 10 — End of Life Management for Cancer Patients and Spiritual Care ● Episode 12 — Bioethics and Ventilation, Nutrition and Hydration ● Episode 13 —The Updated Catholic Religious Directives ● Episode 15 —Turning Off the Vent: Preparing the Family, Patient, and Staff “Mercy is love that seeks to lessen the misery of others” — Bryan Thatcher, MD Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy Newsletter Fall/Winter 2021 R AYS OF M ERCIFUL L OVE C ONFERENCE GOES VIRTUAL Marie Romagnano has put together 60 healthcare conference talks that are now available at TheDivineMercy.org/hpdm for free.
